Following the highly volatile season 13 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, reality television insiders are claiming that veteran stars and estranged family members Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga each want their own spinoff shows.
Amid reports that RHONJ has been put “on pause” due to “cast conflicts,” including Teresa and Melissa reportedly refusing to film with one another, both women have stated they wish to continue with the franchise.
However, OK! Magazine is reporting a source is alleging, “Teresa wants to leave if Melissa stays.” They added, “Producers have halted production on Season 14 and don’t know when they’ll start filming because of cast conflicts, including [the one between] Teresa and Melissa.”
“The level of – I won’t even say vitriol – I will say hate [that] Teresa and Melissa [have], it’s, I mean the gloves are off I’ve never seen anything like it,” Andy Cohen previously stated of Teresa and Melissa’s animosity toward one another, specifically following RHONJ’s season 13 three-part reunion.
“People say Teresa has always thought she should have a spinoff,” the source continued. They noted that Teresa would “love” for Bravo cameras to “follow her around” and document her new life with her husband of nearly a year, Luis Ruelas, and their blended family.
A separate source made mention to the outlet that Melissa is vying for a show of her own.
“She’s not having fun anymore [on RHONJ],” the source alleged of the On Display with Melissa Gorga podcaster. “She’s given it her all for years and feels she can do it by herself with her family and break out on her own.”
Despite the rumors, Teresa’s rep has denied that any deals have been inked for a solo show. Melissa has made no comment regarding the rumors.
While Teresa may not have a Bravo show all to herself, she has been keeping busy with her new YouTube cooking show, Cook with Love by Teresa Giudice.
During a June 14 episode, which also featured eldest daughter Gia, Teresa took a not-so-subtle swipe at Melissa in reference to their infamous decade old “sprinkle cookies” debacle, which saw Melissa bring store bought cookies to Teresa’s Christmas Eve dinner during the show’s third season. This set Teresa off at the time, leading to her throwing Melissa’s cookies into the garbage.
Bravo cameras caught it all — RHONJ fans know exactly what we’re talking about.
Fast-forward to 2023. While making the “Italian” sprinkle cookies, Teresa quipped, “This is my version of sprinkle cookies. This is the Italian version. Don’t they look yummy?” She followed up with a smirk and added, “Not those store bought ones, I’ll never do those…not in our household.”
RHONJ fans were quick to jump into the comments section of Teresa’s YouTube channel and voice their unfiltered opinions.
“Typical Tre. She can’t resist taking a dig at Melissa how many years later????” one fan wrote, calling the video “so awkward.”
Another chimed in and praised Teresa’s cooking talents, but they also felt there was no need for her to shade Melissa. They wrote, “Teresa almost had me there until she made that dig at Melissa at the end… just keep this channel positive because you have an undeniable cooking gift.”
A third fan called out Teresa on her hypocrisy as she’s previously stated all she wants is “peace” following her fallout and subsequent feud with Melissa and her brother, Joe Gorga.
“Even though she wants ‘peace’ and to leave it alone and be done with them like she said on the reunion yet HERE SHE ISSSSS THROWING DAGGERS!!”
However, many viewers loved seeing Teresa in “her element” away from reality TV cameras. They also enjoyed watching her interact with Gia.
“The way Gia looks at Tre … that woman adores her mom,” a fan noted.
“I think [Teresa] is more comfortable in the kitchen than anywhere. She is so natural on these videos,” another surmised.
One fan thinks Teresa needs her own network cooking show, commenting, “Love love love this channel ❤❤ you need a major network show!!!! I love how much you encourage your girls ❤”
