Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto has been criticised by a Toronto restaurant for allegedly yelling at staff and making its host cry.

On June 2, the restaurant, named Manita, posted a statement on Instagram which detailed the alleged incident and urged Quinto not to return.

The post described how the actor reportedly “yelled at our staff like an entitled child after he didn’t reply to two texts to inform him his table was ready”.

It continued to describe how he allegedly “refused to believe the empty tables in the dining room weren’t available for him despite being politely informed they were spoken for.”

The post, which also described Quinto as “an amazing Spock, but a terrible customer,” referencing his portrayal of the iconic character in the Star Trek movie franchise, claimed that he “made our host cry and the rest of our brunch diners uncomfortable.”

The statement concluded with discouraging Quinto from returning to the restaurant, while acknowledging the “many lovely celebrities” that have attended the restaurant.

“Mr. Quinto, take your bad vibes somewhere else, we have many lovely celebrities join us at Manita but you are NOT one of them,” the post read. Quinto’s official Instagram account was then tagged at the end of the message.

Manita then posted a further message on Instagram on June 3, which explained: “To expand upon yesterday’s story re: Zachary Quinto: This isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last time an irate guest has taken their frustrations out on our staff”.

The post continued: “Manita is deeply grateful for our mostly incredible, friendly, gracious guests … who may give us constructive feedback from time to time”.

They added: “To all the other Zachary Quintos out there, on behalf of restaurant workers everywhere: We aren’t above criticism, but we are above being demeaned.”

Quinto has reportedly not yet responded to the comments made by Manita.

In other news, it was reported in April that the Emmy-winning US television series Heroes, which starred Quinto alongside Hayden Panettiere, Kristen Bell and Milo Ventimiglia, is set for a reboot series, titled Heroes: Eclipsed.
