Up until now there wasn’t an official way from Microsoft to style your Series X, but that’s changing with newly announced Xbox Console Wraps. Unlike options from companies that make skins, these wraps are a much easier solution for console customization. You don’t have to stick anything to the console’s plastic shell for one. And because the wraps are more like a jacket for your Series X, there’s no risk of residue being left behind like there would be with skins.

The console wraps are launching officially on October 18, but they can also be pre-ordered today directly through Microsoft. At the moment there are only three designs. Arctic Camo, Mineral Camo, and Starfield. But expect Microsoft to launch more as time goes on. When it comes to pricing, they start at $45. The Starfield one will cost you $5 more. But it’s easily worth it for being the coolest design. Not to mention the prices are right on par with Sony’s console covers. In fact, they’re less expensive. As the PS5 console covers are priced at $55.

Xbox console wraps won’t lessen air flow on the Series X

Here’s where things get really cool. Not only do the console wraps look good, they serve a very real functional purpose. As Microsoft designed them to ensure the Series X stayed ventilated. How you ask? By way of these little feet Microsoft added to the bottom of the wrap. Each part of the wrap is made from solid core panels that are attached by a folding piece that allows them wrap around the corners of the console. And at the bottom of the two side panels are tiny feet that allow air to still flow underneath and through the console.

Of course, all of the ports on the Series X are still open and accessible, and the vents are completely clear. So air still flows through the console the way it normally would as well. Additionally, the wraps were made with silicone interiors that have designs printed on them so they won’t budge. If you feel like your Series X is looking a little bland, these Xbox console wraps will spice things up.
