When is the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to different groups at different times, depending on whether you are a cardmember, and what your “status” is. Here’s the info from Nordstrom:
Because Icons and Ambassadors have to spend a LOT to get that status ($15,000 net and $5,000 net), the relevant date for most Nordstrom cardholders for the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is July 13, 2023.
The sale is open to everyone on July 17, 2023.

What is the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview?
Nordstrom has traditionally done a special catalog to whet people’s interest in the sale items, but since 2021 the catalog has been an online preview. You can’t buy things yet, but you can see everything that will be on sale at this link (and add items to your wishlist for easy shopping later). When Can I Shop the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
For the 2023 Anniversary Sale, Nordstrom has limited early access heavily to Nordstrom cardholders, and even then heavily by tiers.
Those cardholders who have spent more than $15,000 in net purchases (Icons) got earliest access, starting July 11, 2023, while Ambassadors ($5K) get access on July 12, 2023. Influencers ($500+) get access July 13, 2023.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (or NAS) is a once-yearly summer sale where Nordstrom marks down new fall merchandise for a limited time. Unlike other sales, which focus on clearing out old merchandise, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale gives you discounts on brand new fall merchandise as it’s hitting the shelves.

This is why readers LOVE this sale — there are a ton of sizes and colors available; it’s all current trends, shapes, lengths, and colors; and in general it’s a great time to stock up on basic things, from underwear to shoes to bags to suits, from budget picks to investment pieces. How Do I Get Early Access to the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
If you have a Nordstrom rewards card or a Nordstrom credit card, you can shop Early Access. You can sign up for a rewards card here.

Should I Shop 2023 NAS Online or At the Store?
I’m Team Online in general, all the time, but especially with Nordstrom because they offer free shipping and free returns (to say nothing of a great return policy!). As of 2023 there is no end limit on returns, at least for items with tags still on.
(I always love that Nordstrom gives you prepaid return labels, though, so all you have to do is drop bigger packages at the postal counter — you don’t need to weigh anything, stand in line, or talk to the postal worker.)
That isn’t to say you should take advantage of Nordstrom — as they note, “We will do our best to take care of customers and deal with them fairly; we ask that our customers treat us fairly as well.”
That said, if you really want your stuff TODAY, do note that Nordstrom offers an “in-store pickup” option — depending on which store is your local one, they may even offer curbside pickup, where they bring it out to you. You can find your local store here.
