Body oils seem to inspire two camps: those who hate them and those who love them. If you aren’t into them, no judgment—I get it. Some can err on the greasy side and don’t provide many benefits that a lotion can’t, but you should also know that I’m someone who will fully go to bat for them. Just like selecting skincare for your face, you’ll want to select a body oil based on your skin type. If your skin is dry, opt for extra-hydrating ingredients like glycerin, rosehip oil, and coconut oil. If your skin is acne prone, you’ll want to look for oils that are hydrating but noncomedogenic like jojoba, grapeseed, neem, sweet almond, castor, and sunflower.
