Warcraft Arclight Rumble might be getting a beta update pretty soon. The game entered a limited closed beta at the end of last year and since then it’s been fairly quiet in terms of any content updates. While there’s still no mention of an exact release date for the game, Blizzard is still working on it. In a post from earlier this month over on the Blizzard forums, Sr. Community Manager for the game Aezztra gave the community a brief summary of things to come.
The post revolves around patch 0.9.5, with Aezztra saying that the update is “just around the corner.” This post was from around 15 days ago, and mentions no specific dates for the new patch. But what Aezztra does mention is that the game will be going down for maintenance for one week in order to deploy the patch. The game is currently down for maintenance, so the patch is likely coming within the next few days.
The beta update for Warcraft Arclight Rumble will reset progress
In addition to briefing players on the 0.9.5 patch for the game, it’s also mentioned that progress will be reset. This means any headway you made during the closed beta from when it started last year will be gone. And you’ll have to start fresh.
However, players should remember that they won’t lose any money they may have spent on the game through micro transactions. Players will in fact be refunded through in-game credits equal to the amount they spent. These credits can then be used after progress reset. This was initially covered in an FAQ once the beta started back in 2022. But Blizzard has now reiterated that fact by sending out emails this week.
Emails about the beta credits appear to have started going out to beta participants as early as April 27. So this is another good indicator that the patch is happening soon.
Beta credits can be used on any real money items
Think of the beta credits like cash. You can use them to buy anything in the store that you would need real money to buy. Players simply need to pick an item to purchase and on the payment screen there will be an option to use beta credits instead of your normal payment method.
That being said, it’s important to note that any purchases made with beta credits will need to be paid in full. For example, if the item you want to buy costs $1 and you only have $0.50 in beta credits, you cannot use that $0.50 in credits and then pay the other half with your normal payment method. In this case, the payment would need to be made entirely with whatever your normal payment method is.
Blizzard says if the amount of available beta credits one has drops below whatever the lowest cost real money item in the shop is, the beta credits are then converted to coins. It’s also rounded up to the nearest coin value ending in 5. Beta credits won’t expire either. So if you don’t want to spend them right away, you can save them for later. However, they are tied to the account that participated in the beta. So you’ll need to use them with that account.
