Frank Darabont’s adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption, based on a short story by Stephen King, was released into theaters almost exactly 30 years ago, and we thought that was as good a reason as any to run one of our showdown tournaments. Earlier this year, we put one together to highlight the 25th anniversary of the best movies of 1999, so now we’re doing the same for the most memorable films of 1994. Will the crowd-pleasing Shawshank run away with the title, or will another popular choice — or a dark horse candidate — give it a run for its money?
