US cinemagoers can now see Nicolas Cage‘s new horror film Longlegs for free if they have the right birthday.

Until August 4, according to a press release, “fans born on the 14th of any month can head to Atom and follow the instructions for their promo code to secure one free ticket per customer, while supplies last. This exclusive offer is available for any showtime of Longlegs during these dates.”

Without spoiling the film, the 14th is a date with particular significance to the title character, a twisted serial killer portrayed by Cage in one of his “craziest” roles yet.

You can find out more about the free ticket offer at Atom Tickets. The promo code is “BIRTHDAY14.”

Longlegs follows FBI Agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe), who is assigned to hunt down a serial killer (Cage) who has been slaughtering families for 30 years, seemingly with powers beyond mere mortals. When Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer, she must stop him before he strikes again.

In a recent interview, Monroe recalled seeing Cage in makeup as Longlegs for the first time, claiming he looked “unrecognisable”.

According to Monroe, director Osgood Perkins made a conscious effort to keep the film’s stars away from each other until they crossed paths in a scene together.

“The whole lead-up to that was crazy. They had been filming with Cage for five days at that point, and it was his last day, probably three weeks into filming. The director chose to not have me see anything, not meet him, not see what his face looked like. He created this character, this thing, so I was so nervous.”

In a four-star review, NME described Longlegs as “a cross between The Silence of the Lambs, Zodiac and Saw“, while also calling it “infernally creepy”.

“At its heart, Monroe is superb as Harker, offering up a buttoned-down performance that never breaks. Hopefully, Longlegs doesn’t get her pigeonholed as a Scream Queen; she deserves more. As for Cage, also a producer here, it’s just another worthy addition to his canon of crazies. Despite limited screentime, it might just be his most bonkers role yet. “Is it scary being a lady FBI agent?” asks one little girl of Harker. Well, when you’re confronted with Cage’s Longlegs, it most certainly is.”
