Thomas Ravenel Wins Permanent Sole Custody of Kids as Ex Kathryn is Granted Supervised Visits Every Other Weekend as Thomas Speaks

,

Thomas Ravenel has reportedly been awarded permanent sole custody of the two children he shares with ex-girlfriend Kathryn Dennis.

According to a new report, the Charleston County Family Court decided the Southern Charm alum was more fit to care for nine-year-old Kensington “Kensie” Calhoun Ravenel and seven-year-old St. Julien “Saint” Rembert Ravenel, and his years-long custody battle with Kathryn came to an end on January 17.

“I was awarded sole custody,” Thomas confirmed to the editor of All About the Tea. “I make all the parenting decisions. Kathryn [Dennis] has the right to supervised visitation by an approved supervisor [approved by the court] between the hours of 9:00am — 7:00pm, every other weekend.”

“She’s not allowed to have overnights with the children. I will transport the children to a halfway point between Aiken and Charleston where Kathryn will pick them up,” he added.

As Southern Charm fans may know, Thomas moved his kids from Charleston, where Kathryn resides with her father, to Aiken, which is about two hours away, in 2021 after purchasing a $1.8 million home the previous year.

Thomas also said, “I am beyond grateful for the outcome of this custody battle and for being granted sole custody of my children. Family is the most important thing in my life, and I will do everything in my power to ensure that my kids have a happy and stable future. This has been a challenging journey, but with the support of my loved ones and legal team, justice prevailed.”

Kathryn initially lost custody of Kensie and Saint in 2016 after a positive drug test, but she attempted to regain her parental rights two years later as Thomas was accused of assault by his kids’ former nanny, Dawn Ledwell. However, in 2019, Thomas was granted full legal custody, and Kathryn, who maintained joint physical custody, was put on a visitation schedule and ordered to hire a full-time nanny for their children.

One year later, in 2020, Thomas accused Kathryn of drug use and negligent parenting, and several months after that, Kathryn lost joint physical custody and was restricted from seeing the kids outside of supervised visitations every other weekend.

Now, with his latest court win, Thomas has been awarded full decision-making authority over the children, which includes selecting their “education, religious training, health care, extracurricular activities, and travel,” per All About the Tea.

In addition to being banned from seeing her children outside of her supervised visits with a court-ordered monitor, Kathryn has been ordered to pay the supervisor at a rate of $35+ per hour.

In one of Kathryn’s more shocking moments with her kids in 2020, a then-four-year-old Saint was found wandering in the street on two different occasions on the same day. After leaving the home unattended the first time, Saint was returned by a neighbor. Then, amid the second incident, a bystander called police.

Southern Charm season nine wrapped filming in March and is expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime this fall.
