The verdant island is home to tons of mona monkeys and is reliant on its agriculture and export crops like nutmeg, but is gaining traction among international travelers. It is known for its lush forests and waterfalls and the world’s first underwater garden The Molinere Underwater Sculpture Park.
Grenada’s underwater sculpture park is the first of its kind in the world and a new expansion features five new unique installations, including a collection of 25 new sculptures titled “Coral Carnival” by Taylor. Suitable for both snorkelers and divers, the sculptural works were created using high-grade stainless steel and pH-neutral marine cement with diverse habitat spaces integrated into each design for marine creatures to inhabit.
The lush island is earning recognition for its impressive efforts to implement sustainable tourism practices. There is a growing farm-to-table movement and female leaders like Theresa Marryshow, have been supplying fresh, organic produce to many of Grenada’s top hotels and restaurants.
Some recent news about the island is the opening of Six Senses La Sagesse in June 2024 and upcoming Silver Sands Beach House , as well as a new year-round nonstop flight from Boston to Grenada by JetBlue.

Connecting Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Grenada’s Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND, operates on JetBlue’s premium 159-seat A321 MINT aircraft, the service will operate weekly on Saturdays, departing BOS at 8am, arriving at GND at 1:43pm. The return flight departs GND at 3:03pm and arrives at BOS at 7:04pm.
