The U.K. outfit covered the smoldering pop gem during an appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge

The Last Dinner Party put a baroque glam spin on Troye Sivan’s “One of Your Girls” during an appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.

The U.K. outfit transformed Sivan’s original from a breezy yet smoldering pop gem (off his 2023 album Something to Give Each Other) into something that seemed plucked from a dusty Seventies vault. “Give me a call if you ever get desperate/I’ll be like one of your girls,” vocalist Abigail Morris coos over a grimy, glittering wash of guitars and the pristine keen of electric keys.

Along with covering “One Of Your Girls,” the Last Dinner Party performed their own song, “Nothing Matters,” the first single from their debut album, Prelude to Ecstasy. The LP was released last Friday, Feb. 2, and earned high praise from Rolling Stone, which said, “There’s no denying the way their blowsy, unrestrained songs knock you upside and down and leave you with a dizzying high.”

The Last Dinner Party have enjoyed a short but swift rise since forming in 2020 and playing their first show the following year. By 2022, before they’d even released a proper single, they were even opening up for the Rolling Stones at a show in London’s Hyde Park.

The Last Dinner Party will spend much of the year on the road in support of Prelude to Ecstasy. They’ll launch a North American leg this spring, starting March 19 at Lunario in Mexico City and wrapping April 20 with a set at Coachella. They’ll return for a few more dates around the Midwest in late July and early August.
