The Ultimate Destination for Grooms & Their Groomsmen

Last Thursday night, we had the pleasure of attending the grand opening event for The Groom Shop by Michael Andrews, a new retail concept focused exclusively on formal attire for grooms and their groomsmen. Throughout the evening, guests were treated to an exceptional celebration of style, food, drink, and friendship.

The event took place in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood at The Groom Shop’s exquisite showroom, which draws design inspiration from the golden age of Hollywood. The glamor of that era is captured throughout the space from the ornate chandelier to the 12-foot bar outfitted in antiqued mirrored panels, fluted brass, and natural green stone.

The Groom Shop’s elegance was further enhanced for the evening with florals designed by David Beahm Experiences, color matching by Jamie Melbourne of Apostle, while Atelier Fern brought further dimension and volume to the space with a dramatic presentation of her latest bridal collection. The delicious passed hors d’oeuvres were by Marcia Selden, drinks by The Dalmore, and entertainment by DJ Harkness of Jarrell Entertainment.

In addition to the eclectic range of guests, we were privileged to share the evening with The Groom Shop Advisory Board members, Eyal Tessler, Ryan Hill, Gabrielle Hurwitz, Veronica Joy Gurl, and Julie Sabatino.

About The Groom Shop by Michael Andrews

Situated directly across the street from the famous Kleinfeld Bridal, The Groom Shop is the ultimate destination for grooms and their groomsmen, offering both ready-to-wear and made-to-measure attire along with an extensive selection of formalwear accessories, such as bow ties, cummerbunds, and velvet slippers.

The Groom Shop’s ready-to-wear collection consists of timeless and classic black and midnight blue tuxedos, which are available as separates in 40 different sizes from 36 short to 50 long—a range specifically designed to accommodate anyone who needs a tuxedo . . . fast.

In addition to the ready-to-wear collection, also on display are more than 40 signature looks and wedding outfit ideas that can be custom made-to-measure with deliver in under four weeks. For the groom looking for something next level and unique, this would be the menu to order off. The Groom Shop’s signature designs include luxury mohair tuxedos, brocade dinner jackets, liquid velvet smoking jackets, and more, all inspired by Michael Andrews’ favorite pieces he’s crafted during his nearly two decade long tailoring career as the founder of Michael Andrews Bespoke, New York’s premier custom tailor.

“Men are very visual, so we took the guessing game out of the equation by creating the largest selection of formalwear designs on display in New York City,“ said Andrews. “We wanted to bring as many options under one roof as possible so no matter the type of affair, a groom can see something that inspires him. There are literally 100s of bridal boutiques in the City but nothing for the groom – until now.”

The Groom Shop is located at 111 West 20th Street, New York, New York (between 6th and 7th Avenues) and is open Wednesday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments can be booked by calling 646-678-3501, emailing [email protected], or online.
