Baldur’s Gate 3 was crowned the biggest winner at this year’s The Game Awards, taking home a total of six awards, including Game of The Year – see the complete list of winners below.

This year’s nominations were led by Alan Wake 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3, both of which nabbed eight nods, including Game of The Year. Also nominated for Game of The Year were Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Those aforementioned titles were also nominated for Best Game Direction, which Alan Wake 2 won. This year’s nominees for Best Adaptation – in which video games are adapted into TV series and films – were Castlevania: Nocturne, Gran Turismo, The Last Of Us, The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Twisted Metal.

Meanwhile, Forza Motorsport won the award for Innovation in Accessibility. Neil Newbon also won Best Performance for his astonishing performance in Baldur’s Gate 3. The award for Best Narrative went to Alan Wake 2, which was named NME‘s game of the year. Meanwhile, The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom won the award for Best Action/Adventure Game.

Big announcements so far include a remake of Josef Farez’s Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, set to arrive in February. Legendary developer Hideo Kojima also announced a new horror game titled OD in collaboration with Jordan Peele.

The stars came out to attend the biggest night in gaming, with Timothée Chalamet presenting the award for Game Of The Year. Matthew McConaughey also revealed a new game, Exodus, which he will also voice a character for – it was also soundtracked by Muse‘s ‘Supermassive Black Hole’.

HBO’s live-action adaptation of The Last Of Us walked away with the award for Best Adaptation, while Cyberpunk 2077 won Best Ongoing Game.

Sony Santa Monica also made a massive announcement, confirming that a free God Of War Ragnarok DLC titled Valhalla will arrive on PlayStation starting December 12, 2023.
