Terry Dubrow and wife Heather Dubrow sold their $55 million home in Newport Beach, California, amid production on the currently airing 17th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. However, rather than share the news with their castmates immediately, they chose to celebrate in private, which not all of their co-stars understood.
During an interview this week, Terry, 64, opened up about the sale of his mansion, where he previously planned to be “buried,” shaded Heather’s castmates for not being nice to her, and offered an update on a near-fatal medical scare he suffered earlier this summer.
“I feel fantastic. I’m working out, I’m all healthy again so life’s good,” Terry confirmed to E! News of his health status, adding that he and Heather, 54, will soon celebrate his 65th birthday in France.
“I live in Heather Dubrow’s world. There’s no better world than that amazing, lovely world of my wife who saved my life and has allowed me to live an incredibly successful life,” he gushed.
Because Heather and Terry had completed their massive 22,000-square-foot mansion just four years ago, many were taken aback by their decision to move — including Terry.
“I loved that house. I wanted to be buried in the backyard because it was such an enjoyable place to be,” he admitted. “But when I heard how much we were being offered for the house, I thought, ’Okay, I’ll be buried in some other backyard. I’m ready to go.’”
As for why he and Heather kept the sale from the RHOC cast, at least at first, Terry revealed NDAs were at play — and noted that Heather wasn’t in the best place with the ladies.
“That house sale was a very sensitive issue because we had signed non-disclosure agreements with the buyer, and let’s be honest: I love the girls but they weren’t particularly nice to my wife this season, as I think everyone knows,” he stated.
Also, during the interview, Terry reacted to claims of calling the paparazzi to take potentially “staged” photos of himself and Heather amid rumors of His potential cheating.
“How do you call paparazzi? What do you do? Do you say, ‘Hey, look, we’re gonna be at Disneyland at 10:30, and we’re gonna give you money?” he asked, confirming “We would never call the paparazzi.”
“Does anyone really believe we would call paparazzi? Come on,” he added.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 17 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
