The National Survey on Public and Urban Security (ENSU), with data from December 2023, indicates that 91.1% of adults in Los Cabos identify potholes on streets and avenues as the foremost urban issue.
Nationally, deteriorated road conditions due to potholes are recognized as the primary concern by 81.1% of respondents, followed by deficiencies and leaks in the potable water supply, affecting 60.2%. It is noteworthy that from the survey conducted in the third quarter (September) to the most recent one in December, this trend persists.
By December 2023, nine cities, including Los Cabos, Tijuana, Torreón, Ecatepec de Morelos, Atizapán de Zaragoza, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Uruapan, Guadalupe, and Nuevo Laredo, reported a unanimous 100% of their population identifying various issues within their municipalities.
Specifically, in Los Cabos, the prevalence of potholes in streets and avenues was highlighted by 91.1% of the adult demographic, as per the findings of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). This was followed by concerns about bumps in the roads, cited by 80.3% of respondents, while the lack of sufficient public lighting was noted by 73% of those surveyed in the municipality.
