Singer tells MSG audience, “I was very overwhelmed” about her Barbie. “Will she be like me? Will she have my spirit?”
Stevie Nicks surprised fans who were in attendance at her show at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday with news that Mattel told her they would be creating an official Stevie Nicks Barbie.
Following her performance of “Bella Donna,” she intimated with the audience, “I have something very exciting to share with you a few hours before the rest of the world.” During her speech, she said that the toy-maker approached her a year ago. “I was very overwhelmed. Will she be like me? Will she have my spirit? Will she have my heart?” The Barbie comes dressed in Nicks’ Rumours outfit.

She shared with those at MSG that she has had a Barbie made of her likeness on the road with her for the past three months. “When I look at her, I see my 27-year-old self,” the singer said, adding that she also sees everything she’s been through since 1975. “I am her and she is me,” she said.
Nicks gave the Barbie to a person named Sara in the audience, which prompted her to sing a few lines of her Fleetwood Mac song of the same name.
