SteelSeries today has just announced the Arctis Nova 4 Wireless gaming headset, the replacement to the highly popular and long-running Arctis 1 Wireless. As was the case with its predecessor, the Arctis Nova 4 will be multi-platform so you can use it with just about anything.

That includes PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices. Heck you can even use it with the Oculus Quest 2 if you want. It’s also compatible with Steam Deck, the ROG Ally, and basically anything with a USB-C port.

When SteelSeries says multi-platform, it means multi-platform. Like other headsets in the Nova line, this new headset will be compatible with SteelSeries Sonar software. This is SteelSeries’s 360-degree spatial audio software that amplifies your games. And it makes a pretty big difference for games where directional audio is important to the experience. The headset should last for up to 36 hours on a charge and it’s using the ComfortMax system here. Which debuted on the Arctis Nova Pro.

It will also come in three different versions. The Arctis Nova 4 for PC, the Arctis Nova 4P for PlayStation, and the Arctis Nova 4X for Xbox.

The Arctis Nova 4P and 4X will be exclusive to GameStop

Normally when SteelSeries launches a new gaming headset, you can pick it up just about anywhere. Best Buy, Amazon, GameStop, you name it. This time around, that isn’t going to be the case.

The Arctis Nova 4 line is exclusive to certain retailers. The PlayStation and Xbox versions will be exclusive to GameStop. Meanwhile the PC version will only be available through Amazon. You should of course be able to buy them directly from SteelSeries’s online shop as well.

You’ll be able to grab the 4P and 4X versions at GameStop stores on May 20. Though you can already buy either one (or both) from GameStop’s website and it looks like they’ll ship in 1-3 days. The PC version will be available through Amazon on May 20 as well. The Arctis Nova 4 retails for $119.99, so it’s about $20 more than the Arctis 1 Wireless. Although that’s understandable given the feature and design upgrades.
