Spotify for desktop is getting a redesign
This redesign is more of a functional redesign rather than a facelift. It will introduce a three-panel view. The first panel is the new Your Library tab. On the left side of the UI, you’ll see the panel with your list of content. This will include your saved albums, saved artists, playlists, podcasts, and more.
You’ll be able to use the search bar up top to quickly search for the content that you want to listen to. This is useful if you have a lot of content to scroll through. Also, you can pin items so that they’ll live at the top of the panel.
You’re able to resize the panel to your liking by pulling it out or pushing it in. If you want it out of the way, you can click on the icon, and it will collapse.
The middle panel is your main page, and that is going to stay the same. It will remain the central hub for all of your music and podcasts.
The most notable addition is the new Now Playing panel on the right. This will be a scrollable feed of items that dive deeper into the content and artist you’re listening to.
You’ll see information like artist bios, podcast transcripts, episode descriptions, and even tour dates and merch. This is a new hub to dive deep into the content you’re listening to.
This new interface will start rolling to all users today. Since it’s currently rolling out, there’s a chance that you won’t see it just yet. If you don’t see it, then you just might want to wait a bit.
