Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke have reportedly not spoken to one another since Carl called off their November wedding in Mexico last month — just two weeks after she was seen celebrating her bridal shower with her Summer House castmates in New York City.
Following Lindsay, 37, and Carl’s separate statements regarding their split, both of which were shared earlier this week, one report has confirmed they are no longer in touch as another has given a nod to their lack of commonalities and Lindsay’s allegedly insensitive behavior towards Carl, 38.
“It was Carl’s decision to end the engagement,” a source told Life & Style on September 14. “Lindsay is devastated that he would cancel their wedding — she’d only held her bridal shower two weeks earlier!”
According to the report, Lindsay’s drinking may have caused friction between her and Carl, who gave up booze in 2021 after his brother Curtis died of an overdose.
Although Lindsay did give up alcohol for several months, Summer House season seven saw her drinking socially with their co-stars.
“She’s never had a problem herself. Still, it was considered insensitive,” the source stated. “[Carl] is working hard to find himself. The last thing Carl needs is to be tempted to drink again.”
As fans will recall, Lindsay and Carl went to therapy after getting engaged in August 2022 “to figure out” how to better communicate with one another when alcohol is involved. However, one year after the engagement, they called it quits.
“They don’t seem to have much in common anymore. Carl thinks that Lindsay is a great girl. He’s just headed in a different direction,” the insider explained.
In a letter to his family members and friends days ago, Carl said that while a lot of “false narratives” were at play, his and Lindsay’s breakup was “difficult” for them both.”
“We are not moving forward with the wedding,” Carl confirmed, via PEOPLE. “The fact of the matter is Lindsay is devastated, and I’m crushed with how all this transpired. I graciously ask for some patience and grace to heal and recover while we navigate this extremely difficult time.”
Meanwhile, another report, shared by Us Weekly on September 14, confirmed that Lindsay and Carl haven’t spoken to each other since calling off their wedding late last month.
The outlet shared that the breakup was caught on camera for the new season, as were the preparations for their since-canceled wedding.
Days after Carl’s statement was shared, Lindsay spoke of their breakup on her Instagram page.
“The last [two] weeks have been the most heartbreaking and emotional weeks of my life,” Lindsay admitted in her statement. “My entire life and future was ripped out from underneath me, and I’ve had a hard time making sense of it all – with no answers or closure on why.”
“I feel humiliated by how it went down, and simultaneously heartbroken that it happened in the first place. My trust has been betrayed, and coming to terms with that has been difficult for me,” she added.
Summer House season eight is expected to premiere on Bravo in early 2024.
