Nashville singer brings Weird Faith standout to late-night television

Fresh off releasing the new album Weird Faith, Madi Diaz appeared on The Tonight Show Friday to perform one of the LP’s standout tracks, “Everything Almost.”

The artist dubbed “Nashville’s secret weapon” by Rolling Stone said in a recent interview with us that the single is a “straight-up journal entry.” “Madi has a really pleasing way of keeping everything conversational,” her friend Kacey Musgraves — who appears on Weird Faith’s “Don’t Do Me Good” — told Rolling Stone. “My favorite kind of songwriting.”

Following years in the music industry, shuffling around New York and Los Angeles, Diaz established herself in Nashville, ultimately landing a spot as Harry Styles’ opening act; Styles liked her so much, he added her to his backing band for his 2023 tour.

Weird Faith, Diaz’ first album since 2021’s History of a Feeling, arrived on Friday. “This record is about the beginning of love, and saying every feeling out loud, when I feel it, for better or worse because I can’t help it,” Diaz said in a statement. According to the songwriter, the record also “chronicles a new relationship, but also a new relationship to myself.”
