Scheana Shay got a new tattoo earlier this week, which honored her recently released diss track that is believed to be about former friend Raquel Leviss.
Following the sharing of the new single, “Apples,” which seemingly labeled Raquel, 28, as a “narcissist” and a “snake,” the Vanderpump Rules star, 38, took to social media to debut her “apple” tattoo as an executive producer of the series opened up about the odd footage she sorted through amid “Scandoval.”
“We had all these puzzle pieces. And it felt like they were from different puzzles, and we didn’t know how to put them together,” executive producer Natalie Neurater admitted of season 10 during an August 25 interview with The Wrap.
As Pump Rules fans will recall, season 10 had already wrapped filming when Tom Sandoval, 40, was caught having an affair with Raquel amid his nine-year relationship with Ariana Madix, 38. So when it came to production, they immediately picked cameras back up for additional scenes — while sorting through old footage to see if there were any clues.
“We had locked through Episode 11 and thought we had three more episodes left for the season. Everything was put together. But there was a little bit of footage that didn’t make sense to us, footage that we were mulling over at the time,” she explained.
One thing that stood out was a moment in which Raquel showed up late to a tasting at SUR after spending the night with Sandoval while Ariana was in Florida attending her grandmother’s funeral.
“The three of them had hung out a lot that year so it didn’t seem strange. But the way they all spoke about it is what made it stand out to us. The fact that the guys lied about it. That didn’t make a lot of sense to us until the affair was revealed,” Natalie noted.
According to Natalie, a lot of things feel “obvious in retrospect,” but one particularly controversial moment she recalls is learning Sandoval was hesitant to create embryos with Ariana.
“Tom didn’t want to move forward with fertilizing Ariana’s eggs [even though] it was something that he had seemed really keen on in the past … [And] the second she started talking about it with him again. He was shutting it down,” she shared. “And that felt strange to me. And it didn’t fit with everything we had known about his desire for children in the past.”
Natalie also received help from Lala Kent, 32.
“She sometimes sees things that other people miss… especially when she’s just slightly removed from them,” Natalie revealed.
As for Scheana’s new tattoo, she commemorated her diss track, “Apples,” a collaboration with The 27s, with a tiny apple on her inner arm, near her flower and “Summer” (in honor of two-year-old daughter Summer Moon) tattoos, from Los Angeles-based tattoo artist Sweetpea.
In an Instagram Story shared by Page Six, Scheana’s new ink was seen.
In her track, Scheana sings, “I was with you on your worst day … You stabbed me in the worst way / How you gonna lie to my face?” She also seemingly shades Raquel as a “narcissistic psycho,” who she “cut out like lipo.”
“I thought you were faithful / I see you a snake, though,” she adds.
Vanderpump Rules season 11 is currently in production and expected to begin airing later this year or early next year.
