Heather Dubrow is reacting to Gina Kirschenheiter leaking the text messages she sent her after the Real Housewives of Orange County premiere last month.
After Gina said on Nick Viall‘s The Viall Files podcast that Heather texted her that she was disappointed in her behavior before apologizing in another message, Heather clapped back while offering an update on their relationship, dishing on her recent purchase of a $16.1 million mansion in Beverly Hills, sharing if she’ll trade her orange in for a diamond on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and looking ahead to the reunion.
“I’m feeling like they haven’t told us what we’re wearing. And this is like a tweener season for fashion so I’m concerned,” Heather admitted on the July 26 episode of Access Hollywood‘s Housewives Nightcap.
According to Heather, she isn’t worried about the upcoming taping, even though it will be “difficult.”
“There’s a piece of me that enjoys it — not that I like being in the hot seat — but I like being able to hash out for real, ‘What happened? How do you feel? How do I feel? Where are we today? And how can we move forward?’” she explained. “I’m self-actualized enough to go, ‘That wasn’t cool. I need to work on that. That wasn’t my intention, but that’s not how it came across.’ So if I can use it as a tool for that, I’m bettering myself in a way.”
Looking back on the highs and lows of season 17, Heather said there “were a lot of highs,” including the moments that featured her and husband Dr. Terry Dubrow‘s real estate moves.
“Selling our home and moving out happened in real-time with the cameras rolling and all the little moments that happened with it, all live, and a couple of really cool moments between me and Terry that were captured with that, I would say that would be the high,” she revealed, adding, “I would say the low was that I really did feel targeted by almost everyone in our group and there was a trip that we went on that was really painful.”
As of now, Heather hasn’t decided if she’ll be back next season.
“I just need to get through this season. Can we just do that?” she asked.
And she’s equally unsure of a transition to RHOBH.
“That’s just all so crazy. I mean, look, my husband’s practice is still in Orange County, we have a home in Orange County. Our lives are there and really, we’ve been going back and forth between Orange County and Beverly Hills for quite some time so this really isn’t that much different,” she noted. “It’s just that I’m going to have to be up there a little bit more to oversee [the Beverly Hills home project].”
Still, Heather confirmed the door is open.
“Listen, you never know, I mean, stranger things have happened,” she teased.
Although she and Terry plan to renovate their new home in Beverly Hills, which they purchased less than a year after selling their 22,000-square-foot Newport Beach home for $55 million, they aren’t sure if they’ll live there full-time.
“Well you know it’s us. Who knows?” she wondered. “The plan is that it’s gonna take us about three years to redo this house. I’m already loving what I’m working on and my vision for it and I feel like what we’ll probably do is move into that place until Ace graduates high school. That seems like the natural trajectory and then I think Terry and I will move back into our [$14 million Century City] penthouse, cuz that’s where I’d really like to end up. I love that place.”
As for Gina’s shared texts, Heather complained, “I guess nothing’s private anymore.”
“What happened was, I had watched the first episode and I thought she made some pretty outrageous comments and I texted her like, ‘Woah, that was a lot.’ And we worked through it,” she clarified. “It’s a hard thing because you live your life, it’s filmed, and this was all filmed about a year ago, and so we’re all in very different places at this point, and then you have to watch it, and you get upset all over again but I was really proud of how we were texting and talking.”
According to Heather, she’s seen Gina since the episode aired and “thought everything was fine.”
“I wouldn’t have told everyone that we had texted about that. I’m not sure why everything needs to go out there,” she stated.
That said, Heather confirmed that she is “not mad” at Gina, although she hasn’t spoken to her since the messages were exposed.
“I’m not mad. It wasn’t so private or so salacious. I just felt like, ‘Uh, okay,’” she explained.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 17 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
