Kyle Richards confirmed she and husband Mauricio Umansky are, in fact, separated during a visit to Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday.
As she prepared to board a flight with daughter Sophia Umansky, 23, and friend Carnie Wilson, 55, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 54, who has been faced with rumors of a romance with Morgan Wade, 28, for months, spoke out about the state of her marriage — just after Mauricio, 53, did the same.
“You know I usually don’t like to comment about these things… but this morning I woke up to a bunch of text messages from all of the speculation and interpretation of something that I said on a podcast. And I received a text message actually from Kyle asking me what I said,” Mauricio, who is currently starring on Dancing With the Stars, told TMZ on Friday. “Basically, I want to clear things up. Kyle and I are human beings, okay? We have emotions. We have feelings. We’re going through a really hard time. ”
Mauricio had appeared on the Red Mic podcast earlier in the week, where he seemingly suggested he and Kyle were not separated. However, after stating that they are “currently separated” to TMZ, he denied talks of a divorce.
“We are not talking about divorce. We’re trying to deal with this stuff internally with ourselves privately,” he shared. “When I answered the question on that podcast about where we stand, the question was did Kyle and I plant the story in order to create ratings.”
Days after Mauricio’s statements to TMZ, Kyle was caught by a photographer at LAX, who questioned her about whether or not she and Mauricio were separated.
“We are. We’re separated,” she reluctantly stated, as she begged, “No more. Just no more. Please.”
But that didn’t stop the questions.
“I’m sick of hearing about it. I’m sure everyone else is sick of hearing about it,” Kyle fired back.
Then, after the photographer wanted to know if she and Mauricio would be able to work things out with one another, Kyle declined to answer, saying instead, “It’s private information.”
Meanwhile, Page Six also shared some photos of Kyle being comforted by some friends, as the actress was pictured looking a bit distraught while out on a hike with two of her pals on Sunday afternoon.
At the end of August, while appearing on Amazon Live, Kyle admitted that navigating her marital issues with Mauricio in the public eye has been “very hard.”
Days later, while promoting his season 32 appearance on DWTS, Mauricio said he and Kyle were “hanging in there.”
“We’re working through all of our things, which everybody knows about, and we’re just taking it day by day,” he explained. “We’re trying not to let the press influence us and all of the social media and all of the stuff that’s going on. So we’re trying to just ignore that and figure that ourselves.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year.
