Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar‘s Wild West PS4 masterpiece, has returned to PS Plus, meaning subscribers to the service can now play it at now extra cost.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is considered by many to be Rockstar’s magnum opus, the full realisation of its creative vision and years of experience. It’s a truly epic game, grand in scale with a surprisingly emotional story.

In the game you play as Arthur Morgan, a senior member of the van der Linde gang in its final weeks. As well as the main story, you can hunt in the simulated world, fish, collect bounties, hunt for buried dinosaur fossils, meet wacky characters, and just ride off into the sunset enjoying the scenery.

There are rumours Red Dead Redemption is finally getting a PC port, but there’s nothing else to suggest why Red Dead Redemption 2 would be coming back to PS Plus at this time. It could be because Horizon Zero Dawn is leaving, so Sony want to replace it with another triple-A open world.

Also coming to PS Plus in May is the hilariously named Crime Boss: Rockay City. It sounds like a game you see a fake mobile ad for, but it’s real. There’s also the quietly dystopian Watch Dogs, which is a decent game if you ignore all the side content and just stick to the main missions. It also works better if you add a cyberpunk soundtrack rather than the oddly upbeat music native to the game.

Final Fantasy X, X-2, and 12 are also leaving PS Plus.

In other news, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, formerly Assassin’s Creed Red, just got a cinematic trailer and launch date.
