Ramona Singer’s daughter Avery Singer addressed her dad Mario’s past affair, and she suggested Real Housewives of New York City ultimately led to her parents’ divorce.

The 27-year-old, who was a young child when the show began, also discussed the drawbacks of fame, quarantining with her parents, and her dad’s new relationship.

In an interview with the Behind The Velvet Rope With David Yontef podcast, Avery confirmed that her dad had an “affair” while married to Ramona, and she shared details behind the story.

“My dad did have an affair, but my mom was always super open to just like making the family work,” said Avery. “And there was moments where, you know, my dad had more resentment, my mom had more resentment, they weren’t speaking. I’m the middle person, I’m the only child, I’m the middle therapist. We have this joke that I kind of parent my parents in a lot of ways, and sometimes it’s like, okay, who’s taking care of me?”

According to Avery, after the divorce, the three of them were able to have dinners together. Then, during the pandemic, they actually lived together in Florida for several months.

“We hadn’t all been together in the same roof in like eight plus years really since I was a senior in high school,” she said. “We had a great time … binge watching Game of Thrones. My mom was always ordering the groceries. My dad was just like doing him, and I was working, but like it worked and it will forever be one of my favorite memories, and it led to my mom ending up buying a place in West Palm Beach because she got more of a taste of like the South Florida life and now we’re like together a lot … We’re dysfunctionally functional.”

Despite their eventual peace, Avery claimed it wasn’t always roses and sunshine following the affair. “Like, there was periods where I literally was like I am never speaking to my dad again,” Avery explained. “And I met him in a therapist’s office like three months later you know, and like now, we’re really close and as close as we can be, and I’ve now gone on multiple father-daughter trips.”

Addressing her fame from RHONJ, Avery explained she’s been “grabbed multiple times” by fans, and she gets approached even on first dates. “I don’t know who normalized why it’s okay to go up to people when they’re in the middle of dinner, or would just say, ‘Hi, you’re Justin Bieber, I love you.’ Like, just look at him and keep walking,” she said.

Avery indicated that the franchise led to her parents’ divorce. “Doing the show is like a double edged sword. There were so many great, blessing and a curse. Like so many great things about it, but I mean, at the end of the day, like, it led to, in some ways my parents’ downfall and publicized … all of our family drama,” she expressed. “Some people wouldn’t date my mom. Some people wouldn’t date me. I wouldn’t get certain jobs. There’s a lot of negativity and hate.”

Regarding the backdrop of her parents’ downfall, Avery shared, “My mom took on a lot, like, she, you know, she had Ramona Pino, she did a book, she did HSN, and like she is a freakin hustler, and that’s how I am, who I am, but my mom was flying all over the country. I’m in high school living my life studying, trying to get into a great college, and in some way, you know, my dad got a little lost in the sauce. He didn’t want to be, you know, ‘Oh take a picture of Ramona.’ That’s not fun for anyone, so I think that you know it’s been a full circle moment.”

Avery indicated that she’s interested in possibly doing a Bravo show about her company, Bach Boss, a luxury planning service for bachelorette parties and group travel. “Essentially [the show’s concept is] us doing work … for our clients, and the cameras will go to Cabo or Miami and like film like the clients. Below Deck meets My Super Sweet 16. Regardless, I think it’s just like a funny concept.”

The 27-year-old also hinted at Mario’s new relationship. “My dad has been seeing someone. We’re very excited for him. I’ve now met her. My mom has actually met her,” said Avery, who claimed Ramona approves. “Like I said, we’re a functional dysfunctional family.”
