The birth mom of Rachel Fuda’s stepson says she “never received” an adoption request, despite Rachel’s claims on the Real Housewives of New Jersey. She also accused the newbie castmate of using the alleged adoption for a “pathetic storyline.”
On the latest episode of the show, Rachel visited an attorney with husband John Fuda to address the adoption of her 16-year-old stepson Jaiden.
In an interview with The U.S. Sun, Brittany Malsch, the birth mom, claimed the star is capitalizing on the family situation.
According to the outlet, Brittany is now serving time in a New Jersey halfway house, and she recently shared that her ex is refusing to let her see Jaiden.
When the mother was asked if she’d responded to Rachel’s adoption papers, Brittany answered, “I never received an adoption request.”
She went on to say, “I never heard anything about it,” and she shared that she had “no idea” where these documents were allegedly served and doesn’t know the status of Rachel’s adoption.
The 35-year-old also shared her plans to hire a lawyer upon her release, called the adoption saga a “poor pathetic excuse of a storyline,” and believes their plot is “boring as hell.”
“If I had nothing to do with this situation, I would be watching the show thinking how lame she is- completely disregarding Jaiden’s personal life and feelings and taking shots at me to make her look like a knight in shining armor of a stepmom,” she explained.
The outlet reports that John and Brittany were engaged for two years, dated two years before that, and ended the relationship in 2009. John purportedly was given sole custody in 2011 by a judge in New Jersey. The mother said she saw Jaiden “periodically up until 2017” before she was arrested.
“John cut contact with me and my entire family, and even Jaiden’s little brother for the purpose of making Rachel his mom,” said Brittany.
“I never abandoned Jaiden. John made it impossible for me to see and reach him. It was the only way he knew he could hurt me,” she added. “I was just completely shocked to see how the truth has been twisted so far beyond from what actually happened that it made me sad to know Jaiden’s been lied to for the last seven years.”
“And that I have wanted to be in his life and nothing other than that since day one.”
When the outlet reached out to Rachel’s lawyer Debra Guston, the attorney commented, “As all adoption matters are sealed and confidential, I cannot comment except to say that all New Jersey statutes and court rules concerning service were followed and approved by the court.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
