Six weeks after Porno for Pyros abruptly postponed their reunion tour, the Perry Farrell-led outfit has rescheduled the trek… as a farewell tour.

The band was supposed to embark on their first jaunt since 1998 in October, but a week before it began, Farrell announced they’ve “pushed the tour a few months” to focus on the new material they’ve created during rehearsals.

“Petrons, We are beyond thankful for all of your support these last 30 years, and are anxious to celebrate with you. Whilst rehearsing for our first tour in 25 years, we’ve also been in the studio creating new music – that we were hoping to get to you in time for these shows,” the band wrote at the time.

“Unfortunately, we have had to move the dates for the upcoming tour as we were not able to begin our campaign in time. So, we’ve pushed the tour a few months from now, in order for everyone to hear and appreciate the new material that is finally finished.”

The band also promised “new music in the upcoming weeks”; Porno for Pyros haven’t released a new song since 1997.

True to their word, Porno for Pyros will now begin their tour in February 2024, with a new single, “Agua,” arriving on Friday, Nov. 16. However, it wasn’t all good news as the group has rebranded the trek as a “farewell” tour, ensuring that the reunion will be short-lived.

“It will be a blaze of glory, one magnificent ball of fire,” the band wrote on social media. “This is the final chapter for all the weirdos and unsung heroes. We can’t wait to share these final performances with you. Let’s give it everything we’ve got!”

“Now we’re here, and that same heart, that same desire to make music together, has returned. Getting together with these guys has been some of the most fun, the happiest times in my life,” Farrell said in a new statement.

The month-long farewell tour kicks off Feb. 13, 2024 in Santa Ana, California and moves its way eastward, concluding — for now — March 10 in Montclair, New Jersey.

Porno for Pyros — featuring Jane’s Addiction’s Farrell and drummer Stephen Perkins — have reunited for one-offs in recent years, including as a last-minute replacement for Jane’s Addiction at the 2022 Welcome to Rockville fest after guitarist Dave Navarro bowed out with long Covid.
