Oasis guitarist Bonehead has gifted a busker in Glasgow tickets to one of Liam Gallagher‘s ‘Definitely Maybe’ anniversary shows in the city.
Bonehead, real name Paul Arthurs, bumped into young busker Thomas Smitheram performing the band’s 1994 hit ‘Half The World Away’ on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street, and appeared to have gifted him gig tickets.
In an Instagram post, Bonehead shared a photo of the pair together, saying, “Yes Thomas. Enjoy the gig @thomas_smitheram.”
Bonehead, who played rhythm guitar for Oasis from 1991 to 1999, has been working with Gallagher again over the last decade and has been playing on his former bandmate’s tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ classic debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’.
He began working with Gallagher again in 2013. They first reunited at a charity event, and he then replaced Gem Archer – himself Bonehead’s replacement in Oasis – who left Gallagher’s band Beady Eye due to injury.
The guitarist also appeared on Gallagher’s debut solo album, ‘As You Were’, in 2017, and has played guitar alongside him for a number of tours and festival shows since then.
In April 2022, Bonehead announced that he had been diagnosed with tonsil cancer, and wouldn’t be able to join Gallagher on his tour that year. While he said in September 2022 that he’d been declared cancer-free, he also stepped away from Gallagher’s 2023 shows. However, he’s back for the ‘Definitely Maybe’ dates.
Gallagher, Bonehead and co. are playing Glasgow’s OVO Hydro arena tonight (June 19) and tomorrow, before rounding off the tour with dates in Dublin and Manchester. You can find tickets here, and details on the remaining shows below.

Gallagher will also be playing ‘Definitely Maybe’ in full at Reading & Leeds Festival in August, while he’s also discussed the potential for a ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory’ 30th anniversary tour next year.
Elsewhere on the tour, Gallagher said that he reserves a seat for his estranged brother Noel at each show, and he debuted the ‘rap’ from the Sawmills demo of the Oasis track ‘Columbia’ for the first time in Manchester last weekend.
