Meta has introduced a new feature for its Threads app called “Reposts.” This feature allows users to share their friends’ posts on their profiles, making sharing content and interacting with friends on the platform easier. The reports feature is now available to users globally.

The new report feature on Threads is similar to the “retweets” feature on X (formerly Twitter). With reposts on Threads, users can share their friends’ posts on their profiles to enhance the visibility of a post.

Meta has also added a Reposts tab to the user’s profile. The new tab lets you and your followers see the reposted content quickly.

“Two small updates for Threads that are worth mentioning: we’re rolling out a new Reposts tab on your profile so you can see all the threads you reposted in one place. We are also, based on your feedback, adding reposts to your Following Feed.” Adam Mosseri said in his post on Thursday.

The way the Reposts feature works on the Threads app is also similar to X. In order to repost content, you can tap on the “repost” button that appears below a user’s post. Then, you can find it on your profile’s Reposts tab.

The introduction of Reposts on Threads is part of Meta’s ongoing efforts to increase engagement on its platform. By making it easier for users to share content and interact with their friends, the company hopes to keep users coming back to its app and spending more time on it.

Threads is still an immature app, and there’s plenty of room for improvement. The platform still lacks some essential features to hang in the same crowd as X, including a web version. To address this, Instagram chief Mosseri has recently stated that a Threads web version might launch as soon as next week. A web app might give users a reason to stay on the platform and access their profile from any device.
