Mega Man X DiVE came to mobile devices back in 2021 globally as an always-online game, and now it’s getting an offline version. Making it more like the Mega Man games of old that you may remember playing.

Mega Man X DiVE Offline, as it’s officially called, will be coming to Android, iOS, and PC via Steam. It’ll have three different modes for players to enjoy. Including a story mode that lets you “blast through a wide variety of stages.” There’s also multiple playable characters and you can level them up by completing story mode missions.

In addition to the story mode, there’s also a challenge mode to test your skills. In this mode players will be able to take on a variety of more difficult experiences. Capcom says time trials will be part of that but doesn’t mention any other specific challenges. The third mode is called event mode and includes some extra stories that are based on “fan-favorite Mega Man gamers.”

And just in case you’re worried about how much content there is, don’t be. As there will be over 900 stages to complete. You can also customize the over 100 playable characters. So, yeah there’s plenty to do.

Mega Man X DiVE Offline launches August 31

At least for PC players. The Steam page for the game lists an August 31 launch date and Capcom confirms this. It doesn’t mention launch dates for the Android or iOS versions though. However, the game’s official landing page says it’ll be available for Steam, Android, and iOS on September 1.

So the September 1 date could be the launch timing for the mobile version of the game. Also worth noting is that on Steam, this game is not going to be free-to-play like the currently available mobile version that’s always-online. Instead it’ll be $29.99 to purchase it. It’s unclear if the mobile versions will cost money too. But considering there’s already a free version of the game on mobile, this one likely does have a price tag. At least we can hope.
