Insomniac Games has now confirmed an official release date for the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Prior to this week, there was a general release window for the game. It was Fall of 2023. A time that is rapidly approaching faster than you can blink, and before you know it, you’d be playing the game on your very own PS5 console.
Now there’s a specific date so you know when exactly you can pick the game up. Or when to expect it on your doorstep if you’re having a physical version shipped out. Insomniac says the game will be launching on October 20. The studio revealed the date on June 7 as part of Summer Game Fest. In an accompanying tweet about the reveal, Insomniac also confirmed that there will be a pretty snazzy collector’s edition. It’ll retail for $229.99, but that price should be worth it if you like figures and statues. As it comes with a 19-inch statue of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales fighting Venom.
You can pre-order Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 well before the release date
You can get a head start on paying for the game a lot sooner than October 20. And you may want to if you plan to pick up the collector’s edition.
Pre-orders for the game will start on June 16, meaning you can pay for it starting next Friday. Alongside the $229.99 collector’s edition, you can also get the standard edition for $69.99, or the digital deluxe edition for $79.99. Of course only the collector’s edition will come with a steelbook case. It’ll also come with all of the same content as the digital deluxe edition, which includes 5 unique suits for Peter and 5 unique suits for Miles.
There’s also a pre-order bonus of an early unlock suit for both Peter and Miles, each with three different color variants. Plus you get 3 skill points and a web grabber gadget. A lot of excellent content for fans of the first game looking to get the sequel.
