“I’m an enormous dreamer, and I fulfilled two lifelong goals in making XCOM (And XCOM 2, and Battle Of The Chosen) and Marvel’s Midnight Suns,” wrote Solomon. “I’m the luckiest child who ever lived.”

Solomon went on to thank Firaxis co-founder and Civilisation creator Sid Meier for educating him, claiming “if I’m ever half nearly as good as him I’ll be twice nearly as good as I’m now.”

“I’m grateful to my Firaxis teammates, previous and current, for making goals into actuality,” continued Solomon. “Real love and gratitude. We did some actual great things collectively. I’m grateful to 2K for all the time believing within the goals, and all the time supporting us with the time and assets wanted to carry them to life. And I’m so grateful to everybody who loved XCOM and Marvel’s Midnight Suns. I’ve by no means taken this job without any consideration. Thanks for letting me do that job.”
