Logitech today is announcing the next phase of its pro gaming headset lineup, the G Pro X 2. And boy oh boy does it bring with it some notable advancements. And there are quite a few of them. Of course you’ll notice that the new headset doesn’t really look any different from the last model. It has the same general design as the G Pro X. And that’s intended. Logitech said it was solely focused on only making changes where it felt things could improve. The visual design of the headset was not one of them. Although it did add a rotating hinge on the earcups.

It did however change a lot of the stuff on the inside. The beating heart of which, is the all-new 50mm graphene drivers. Which feature a graphene diaphragm and a live-edge suspension. Logitech says these new drivers will allow for even greater precision audio, with lower distortion and better frequency response. The result of which is you hearing the entire soundscape of the game. Just like with the last G Pro X headset, Logitech sought out input from pro-level players on how to improve the new model.

All of them mentioned at least one key factor. Sound can be the most important detail in any competitive game. So Logitech sought out to create a gaming headset that could deliver unmatched sound performance. And it believes it did that with the new G Pro X 2.

There are more improvements than just these new drivers, and they basically solve most pain points about the older model. While the original G Pro X was both comfortable and sounded great, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t slightly lacking in some areas.

Battery life wasn’t the best and the range of the LIGHTSPEED wireless connection definitely needed improvement. Luckily, Logitech has improved on both of those things. The new G Pro X 2 now has over 50 hours of battery life. Compared to over 20 on the G Pro X. As for the range, it’s now up to 30m. Which is double the range on the last model.

On top of that, the headset is now more lightweight (345g down from 370g) to account for any potential discomfort during longer sessions. It also still comes with two pairs of ear pads in leatherette and velour. As well as the same well-liked microphone powered by Blue Vo!ce.

The Logitech G Pro X 2 comes in both Black and White color options, and retails for $249.99 with availability in the US, Canada, and select markets worldwide from the Logitech G website, or from Best Buy if you’re in the US.
