Laura Bileskalne shared a series of messages on her Instagram Story over the weekend in which she clapped back at claims of Luke Jones being a “predator.”
After the two of them were fired from Below Deck Down Under for acting inappropriately with their castmates, including Margot Sisson and Adam Kodra, after a wild night of partying, Laura suggested that the footage that aired of a naked Luke getting into bed with a sleeping Margot was “taken out of context” and “sensationalized.”
“What we are witnessing now is one harassment been defended by other harassment. Which cancels it all out really. People been influenced by what has been fed to them,” Laura wrote in one of her messages, as seen in a series of posts shared by Best of Bravo on Instagram.
Continuing on with her lengthy post, which included a message to Luke that read, “You are not alone,” Laura signaled to the editing of the series.
“Being a part of a reality TV show comes with its fair share of challenges and misunderstandings. The show often portrays a condensed version of events, which can be misconstrued and taken out of context,” she explained. “It is essential to remember that what you see on television may not always reflect the entirety of person’s character or intentions. It is crucial to separate the character portrayed on television from the real person behind the scenes. It is disheartening to be subjected to negative judgements and assumptions based on a limited footage.”
Before thanking her supportive followers, saying their messages are the reason she’s been able to persevere, Laura insinuated that the footage of her and Luke was used to create a false narrative.
“It is unfortunate that certain events and interactions have been sensationalized and manipulated to fit a particular narrative. I understand that reality TV offers entertainment value, but it is essential to remember that it is not always an accurate representation of reality itself,” she suggested.
Following the sharing of the post, Laura featured a message from a fan on her Story.
“Smart people understand everything … Don’t worry,” the person had written.
“No worries,” Laura replied. “People will get it one day. Stay tuned. Follow the next episodes of [Below Deck Down Under season two].”
In a third Instagram Story, Laura denied Luke is a predator and pointed to the fact that Margot, who was admittedly intoxicated at the time, had kissed Luke just moments before he got into her bed.
“I don’t take sh*t from who has not actually watched it. Don’t make up a [predator] from someone who gave a HUG to a girl who willingly kissed 25 min ago. [Get] over yourself and your bs,” she demanded.
As Below Deck fans may have seen, Laura offered an apology to Adam on Instagram last week, along with an image of the two of them sitting beside one another — and Adam smiling at her.
“My sincere apologies to Adam, I did not realize I made him feel uncomfortable and no one should be put in that position. And to Margot to not been able to empathize,” she wrote on August 8. “I was 29 when the show was filmed, 30 was my life-changer. I am 31 now and I am watching it as all of you, an entertainment show.”
