Kyle Richards doesn’t understand why she continues to be targeted with rumors claiming she used the diabetes medication Ozempic for weight loss, especially when her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star, Erika Jayne, is “way skinnier.”
As Kyle, who embarked on major lifestyle changes to her diet and fitness routine last year, cutting out sugar, carbs, and alcohol, suggested suspicions should be raised in regard to Erika’s thin frame, she flaunted her own weight loss in a spread for Art Bodega Magazine.
Speaking to Art Bodega Magazine, Kyle shot down ongoing Ozempic rumors as she credited her fit physique to two-hour workouts, hiking, and eliminating alcohol.
“If people think that I would take any drugs to lose weight, that is simply not true. I’ve worked very hard,” she insisted, via The Real Housewives Zone on Instagram. “I am sure if my mother would have had the knowledge of how you can take hormones and improve your health after your 50s, find ways to eat and take care of yourself, which is something I study diligently and I am concerned about on a daily basis, she might not have died of breast cancer.”
According to Kyle, she saw major changes in her health after deciding to stop drinking.
“I’ve read studies of how alcohol can affect you. I used to drink very moderately, not even two glasses of wine and I would get hungry all the time,” Kyle recalled. “I would start eating cookies — it was so unhealthy. That prompted my decision to quit alcohol, start exercising more.”
“I was in a better mood; why change that?” she asked.
During another interview, Kyle again fought back against rumors of Ozempic use.
“I can say that I have never tried it, and I have never taken it,” Kyle told Page Six on May 23. “I’m not on any weight loss drug. If you know me, you know I have terrible anxiety so that would scare me to death. I have never, ever ever taken it.”
Throughout the past few months, Kyle has been enduring grueling workouts with personal trainer Cory Gregory, who her friend, country singer Morgan Wade, connected her to.
“She’s always worked out, but she’s recently been going super hard, and we have the same trainer, Cory, so I kind of connected those two,” Morgan confirmed to Page Six. “She’s super strong, and she’s dealing with all those people saying she’s on that weight loss drug, but she’s in such good shape, and she works out all the time.”
Although certain Bravolebrities, including Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Margaret Josephs, Dolores Catania, and Jennifer Fessler, and Shahs of Sunset alum Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, have been open about their use of Ozempic or similar drugs, Erika has only faced a handful of rumors.
“I don’t know about Erika, I have no idea, but I’m wondering why don’t people talk about her enough, she’s way skinnier than me,” Kyle noted. “I’m like, ‘Why are people talking about me?’ I’m so confused because she’s really lost a lot of weight.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year.
