Kyle Richards is speaking out about a photo that caused issues between her and her co-stars amid production on the upcoming 13th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

While appearing on Amazon Live on Monday, Kyle, who recently confirmed she and her husband, Mauricio Umansky, are going through their “most challenging” year, revealed that a pic of her without her wedding ring will be discussed on the impending season as she also spoke of divorce rumors and the joint statement she and the Buying Beverly Hills cast member shared earlier this month.

As she looked back on a PEOPLE magazine report from July 3, which claimed she and Mauricio had been separated for “a while,” Kyle said she and her spouse felt it was important to make it clear that they were not planning to end their marriage.

“People Magazine came out, it said we’re separated, living under the same roof … Then we had to quickly write a statement saying, ‘Yes we have had a hard year. People leak stories. Sometimes they’re true and sometimes they’re not true,’ and we made a point to say that divorce was not being discussed,” Kyle shared, as seen in a clip posted by Bravo and Cocktails on Instagram.

Kyle then noted that while filming RHOBH earlier this year, she faced false claims about her ringless photo, even though she only removed it to work out.

“There was like a picture of me without my ring on and people must assume now, ‘Oh because Kyle and Mauricio have been going through a hard time, that’s why I didn’t have my ring on.’ That is not why I didn’t have my ring on,” she confirmed. “I didn’t have my ring on because I lift weights and it will bend the ring, ruin the ring, and it hurts.”

According to Kyle, she was without her ring because she was working out when her youngest daughter, Portia Umansky, 15, requested she take her to school.

“I was working out and lifting weights in the gym and then Portia came out and said, ‘It’s time to go to school!’ I jumped in the car and we were running to grab muffins and coffee she wanted to bring for her teacher in the morning and a paparazzi saw me without a ring,” she recalled.

And while the ring may not have been removed for any controversial reason, her castmates quickly got word of it.

“That sparked a lot of stuff on the show that actually wasn’t even true and you’ll understand when you see the season,” Kyle teased of the upcoming drama. “But that is not because Mo and I have been having a hard time. It has nothing to do with why I didn’t have a ring on my finger.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime this fall.
