Joe Gorga opened up about what fans didn’t see on the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion while appearing on wife Melissa Gorga‘s podcast last week.
As the three-part special continues to show the tension between Melissa and his sister, Teresa Giudice, who accused the Gorgas of aiding in the FBI investigation that landed her and ex-husband Joe Giudice behind bars, Joe explained what went down backstage as he admitted to being “proud” of Melissa and joked about a cartoon version of the Bravo reality series.
“We could make this a cartoon,” Joe joked on the June 8 episode of PodcastOne’s On Display With Melissa Gorga.
“Well they do, they do. They make you guys The Flintstones sometimes,” Melissa replied. “[And] me too, I think I’m Wilma.”
According to Joe, he felt proud watching his wife maintain her composure at the taping amid Teresa’s many attacks.
“I’m just proud of you,” he told her. “You got somebody like, attacking you and your calmness and the way you can handle yourself… I look up to you, man, that was great.”
Meanwhile, Melissa said that because she went into the taping with a clear mind, she wasn’t nervous.
“When you’re sitting there and you don’t have a million different stories that you’re trying to remember, I just knew that I was going to say the truth and the facts,” she stated. “I didn’t have nerves that day.”
Also on the episode, Melissa looked back on a backstage moment with Joe, which occurred during the cast’s 30-minute break from set.
“You were just like, staring at the wall, like, you were in shock because you guys got to watch the monitors from behind the scene, and I think you were like, you look stunned,” she recalled.
“I was crying. I was upset,” Joe replied of the off-camera moment.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 reunion concluded on Tuesday, June 13, with part three at 8/7c on Bravo.
