Jill Zarin continues to deny that she is the reason behind the collapse of The Real Housewives of New York City’s Legacy show.
“‘Legacy’ didn’t happen because it just wasn’t meant to happen, [and] that’s the truth,” Jill recently told Page Six. “It has nothing to do with me. It has to do with the producers and what they decided to do. I don’t really know.”
The would-be show was originally tapped to include RHONY alums Dorinda Medley, Kelly Bensimon, Luann de Lesseps, and Sonja Morgan alongside Jill. However, it was marred with production delays due to alleged contract negotiations.
Earlier this year, some cast members felt “they were getting lowball offers from Bravo and that the network wasn’t willing to guarantee that they would appear in enough episodes per season.”
However, it was purported that Jill was the lone holdout who broke the metaphorical camel’s back, causing the show to be scrapped altogether.
The RHONY alum seems to be backtracking on her previous comments regarding the show. Earlier this year, while giving a separate interview via Radar Online, she seemingly referred to the rumors, stating, “I’m going to defend myself and say, ‘I started the show. I cast three of them … I think this was my time, and they should pay us all equally … And if they don’t want to that’s perfectly fine — just don’t include me.”
Since the show’s first attempt at pre-production was dead on arrival, it’s been reported that Bravo has renewed interest in the Legacy series. However, it will be produced in the style of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, with filming set only to span about a week. Luann, Sonja, Dorinda, and Kelly have all reportedly been given offers to return, but Jill has not. With Jill’s absence, Ramona Singer has been rumored to be in talks to join the new version.
Jill is adamant she doesn’t mind being left out of a new iteration of Legacy, claiming, “I don’t miss it. I’m a big fan. I love watching it, but that was a chapter of my life that’s closed, and I’ve opened up a few new ones.”
It was recently announced that Jill would appear in the new Amazon Freevee reality television competition show, THE GOAT, alongside Bravolebrities Kristen Doute and Reza Farahan.
