Huawei is one of the biggest tech companies on the earth, and AI is one of the biggest crazes on the earth. It was only a matter of time before they clashed. According to CNN Business, Huawei is looking to invest in AI over the next decade.

With the rising popularity of generative AI tech companies are fighting to be ahead of the AI curve. It’s proving to be the next frontier in technology, which means there are boundaries to cross and there’s money to be made. At this point, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI are leading the AI market with companies like Meta looking to join the race.

Huawei is looking to invest in AI over the next decade

Chinese tech giant Huawei is still dealing with the sanctions placed upon it by the US government. While that’s the case, the company has been able to make it through and continue business as usual. At this point, we haven’t heard much about the company’s plans for the future. However, the company’s CFO, Meng Wanzhou, stated that the company is going to be making a big push into AI over the next decade.

This leaves a handful of questions for the company, but it seems to be so early in the game for this new direction. It doesn’t seem like the company is planning on merely investing time and energy into AI; it might be making a change in direction.

If this does happen, we’re not sure how the company’s mobile business will change. Right now, Huawei is still struggling to get back up on its feet with smartphones. We don’t know if the company will continue to make phones or take the LG route.

Meng Wanzhou said. She said that the company is “committed to building a solid computing backbone for China — and another option for the world.” So, this gives us a little bit of insight into what it’s planning on doing.

As time goes on, we’ll hear more about the company’s plans and have a better idea of what to expect.
