Danielle Cabral is speaking out about how her estranged brother, Thomas DiPetro, reacted to her sharing their story on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Following the latest episode of the Bravo reality series, Danielle shared how Thomas responded as she also confirmed backlash from his wife’s family and suggested she might be giving up hope for a future reconciliation between them.
“When the extended family gets involved, it’s really hard, like we know,” Jennifer Aydin shared on the May 9 episode of the RHONJ: After Show.
Over the past several weeks, many have questioned whether or not Danielle has been truthful about what led up to her estrangement from Thomas.
As RHONJ fans know, Danielle claims she and Thomas suffered a falling out after she blocked him on Instagram for making fun of her.
“I think people are questioning, rightfully so, what this all started from. I get it. There’s obviously something going on,” she admitted.
According to Danielle, some believe she’s a “psychopath sister-in-law” who “tortured her sister-in-law” while others have “[created] their own narrative” about what truly occurred. Either way, going into her role on RHONJ, she hoped telling her side of the story would help her brother see that she has “real hurt.”
“That [was] my only hope. But right now, it’s not looking too good,” she stated. “My goal was for them to watch and hopefully think, ‘Wow, maybe she’s really hurting.’”
While Danielle didn’t come right out and say that she’s done with the situation, she suggested she’s ready to move forward without her brother.
“At this point, it’s kinda like, better just to end that chapter in your life, move on, and be happy with your family, my husband [Nate Cabral] and my kids,” Danielle reasoned. “From my mom and my husband’s point of view, they see what hurt I have gone through. We lived everything that we filmed last year, which is hard.”
As for how Thomas reacted to RHONJ, Danielle said he’s “not happy.”
“I’m hearing he’s obviously not happy [about] the stuff I said about [his wife]. I’ve read comments here and there, obviously from her family and friends or his family and friends, like just saying horrible mean things,” she revealed.
Danielle’s comments about her brother were shared just as she appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she confirmed she’s still not heard from her brother and admitted she has no regrets about sharing their story.
“I came on a reality show to my reality. I never thought that they would not accept my truth. Who would think that?” she asked.
