Emily Blunt has opened up about the time she met Taylor Swift, and shared the compliment the singer gave to her daughter.

The actor, who is currently starring in a new film opposite Ryan Gosling, titled The Fall Guy, appeared on The Howard Stern Show recently, where she was asked about Swift.

After admitting to being a fan of the singer, who has just released her 11th studio album ‘The Tortured Poets Department‘, Blunt shared a moment where the two stars met.

She described how the Grammy-winning artist paid a compliment to her and The Office star John Krasinski’s nine-year-old daughter.

Describing Swift as the “nicest”, the Devil Wears Prada actor explained: “She was so nice to my kids. My oldest kid has just cut all of her hair off, this very short haircut that she was very self-conscious about. And Taylor Swift, goes, ‘God, look at you, you’re just this Sixties beatnik cool kid. I love your style’.”

She said of her daughter’s reaction: “I thought my child was going to faint,” but called the gesture “the best thing anyone’s done for my child.”

This follows the actor’s appearance on Saturday Night Live last month, where she and The Fall Guy co-star Gosling performed a duet rendition of Swift’s famous ballad, ‘All Too Well’.

The pair’s performance was Blunt and Gosling both seemingly waving goodbye to their respective roles in summer blockbusters Oppenheimer and Barbie.

“You know, when you play a character that hard, that long, just letting go feels like a breakup and for processing a breakup, there’s really only one thing that can help – the music of the great Taylor Swift,” said Gosling.

In a four-star review of The Fall Guy, which features the aforementioned Swift song in its soundtrack, NME described it as “a delight from start to finish, thanks to a sparkling script, thrilling action sequences and to-die-for comic chemistry between the two leads.”
