Lindsay Hubbard was reportedly “blindsided” when Carl Radke broke up with her earlier this week for the Summer House cameras amid production on season eight.
After it was confirmed on Thursday that the Summer House couple had split, a number of insiders spoke out, sharing that Lindsay, 37, has been left “devastated” by the breakup and claiming that just days before their engagement was called off, she and Carl, 38, “seemed fine.”
“They seemed fine,” a source told Page Six on August 31, giving a nod to an outing Lindsay and Carl enjoyed with their co-stars at Montauk’s Surf Lodge on Sunday.
Meanwhile, a second insider said they “are usually all over each other and it didn’t look like that on Sunday.”
“They were dancing next to each other,” they explained of their absence of PDA.
Weeks before that, Lindsay was surprised by a bouquet-baring Carl as she celebrated her bridal shower at Cathédrale with her castmates, Danielle Olivera, 34, Amanda Batula, 32, Ciara Miller, 27, Gabby Prescod, 32, and Samantha Feher, 26.
Then, as she prepared for her September bachelorette party in the Bahamas, Carl reportedly informed her that he could not “move forward” with their plans to wed.
“Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard have called off their engagement. The two were set to get married in November, but Carl told Lindsay he couldn’t move forward with the wedding,” multiple sources told Entertainment Tonight on August 31.
A short time later, an insider said Lindsay was “blindsided” by Carl’s decision.
“It’s all so raw,” a source told Us Weekly on August 31. “The dust hasn’t settled with it yet.”
“He did call off the wedding on camera,” the source continued, shading the move as “so mean.”
“A normal person who loves someone wouldn’t break up with someone they love on camera,” they noted. “No matter how many problems you may have, you don’t do something like that on camera for the world to see their reaction.”
The insider went on to say that Lindsay is “devastated,” although she and Carl “might get back together tomorrow.”
Either way, fans will see it all go down on the show.
“The cast had already wrapped filming and now they are picking it back up,” the insider stated.
Summer House season eight began filming in early July and is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
