Joe Gorga reportedly accused his niece Gia Giudice of asking him – days before her mother Teresa Giudice’s wedding – to “leave Melissa [Gorga].” The accusation was allegedly made in a confessional interview on Real Housewives of New Jersey, leading Andy Cohen to question Gia at the reunion. Gia denied the claim and clapped back on social media.
The recent drama began when Joe and his wife Melissa skipped Teresa’s wedding. As of now, the details behind their decision are still murky, though the current season is slowly leading up to the finale, during which an explosive fight reportedly occurs.
According to a report from the AllAboutTRH podcast, shared by @georgiosays on Instagram, Joe claimed Gia called him on the phone and asked him to “leave Melissa.” The call allegedly took place one or two days before Teresa’s wedding.
The podcast reported that Andy got involved, calling Gia at the reunion to ask about the allegation, which Joe discussed in a confessional.
Gia denied saying this, but she admitted to calling Joe — to beg him to attend the wedding.
The podcast hosts slammed Joe as “trash” and a “hypocrite” for bringing up his niece in this way.
Amid the podcast episode, Gia reacted on social media, saying “thank you” to the hosts.
“Sad that I have to be brought up in a bad light,” added the college student, “and have to defend myself to Andy and other[s].”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
