An Ocean’s 14 film is reportedly in the works with George Clooney and Brad Pitt seemingly returning – find out more below.

According to a Deadline Hollywood report, steam is picking up on the development of Ocean’s 14. All Quiet On The Western Front director Edward Berger is said to be in talks to take over the franchise from Steven Soderbergh, while negotiations are being held with franchise stars Clooney and Pitt.

However, Deadline notes that the film’s development is still in very early stages. Nevertheless, it also reports that many of the trilogy’s other cast members are also reportedly expected to return, namely Matt Damon and Casey Affleck.

The update follows Clooney’s comments late last year that a script has been written for the next instalment of the heist franchise, and that the story will be set after the events of 2007’s Ocean’s 13.

“We have a really good script for another Ocean’s now, so we may end up doing another one,” Clooney said. “It’s actually a great script.” He added at the time that the film likely won’t be called Ocean’s 14, saying: “Well… I don’t want to call it that… I mean, the idea is kind of like Going in Style.”

Clooney and Pitt starred together in the trilogy of Ocean’s 11 movies – its sequels were titled Ocean’s 12 and Ocean’s 13 – helmed by Steven Soderbergh in the 2000s. They most recently will star in another heist film, Wolfs, out later this month.

In a four-star review of 2018’s female-led spin-off film Ocean’s 8 for NME, Rhian Daly wrote: “There are a few areas where Ocean’s 8 could improve. It feels a little reductive for the main sub-plot in an all-female reboot to involve getting revenge on an ex (art dealer Claude Becker, played by Richard Armitage), as if these brilliant women couldn’t just want to steal for money, thrills, or boredom like their male counterparts… Still, even with these flaws, Ocean’s 8 feels like a triumph and one that will hopefully keep this gang on our screens for years to come.”
