There’s no place quite like Puerto Rico. It’s the ultimate destination for a tropical island getaway.
And now it will be easier to get away to the island than ever before!
Frontier has launched 8 new routes from the United States to the island paradise, meaning more American travelers than ever can enjoy everything Puerto Rico has to offer.
Here’s what you need to know:
Destination Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico is one of the most popular Caribbean destinations for American travelers.
And because Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, you can enjoy all the benefits of a Caribbean vacation without packing your passport.
What’s more, getting to Puerto Rico doesn’t have to be expensive thanks to a host of new nonstop flight routes from ultra-low-cost airline Frontier.
Frontier has introduced a whopping wave of 8 new flight routes between the mainland United States and Puerto Rico’s San Juan Luis Munoz Marin International Airport.
In fact, to accommodate all of these new routes Frontier has even established a new crew base in San Juan.
This also shows how committed the airline is to continue to serve the Caribbean destination.
Frontier’s 8 New Routes
The 8 new routes launched by Frontier are between San Juan and Charlotte, Fort Lauderdale, Boston, Norfolk, Palm Beach, Fort Myers, and 2 airports in New York. These are JFK and Newark.
The route with the most flights will be Newark, which will have 11 flights per week. This route is launching on June 27.
Twice daily flights launched from New York JFK on June 6
Routes 3 times per week were launched from Fort Myers, Norfolk, Boston, and Palm Beach on June 2.
On June 1 4 weekly flights were launched from Fort Lauderdale, and on the same date a single weekly flight was launched from Charlotte.
Frontier operates more flights to and from San Juan than any other airline. Around 8% of its capacity is based in Puerto Rico.
By July, Frontier will serve an incredible 26 destinations from San Juan, making the island more connected to the mainland United States than ever before.
Why Visit Puerto Rico?
The abundance of plentiful, cheap airfare is one of the things that makes Puerto Rico an incredibly appealing destination for travelers.
But there’s so much more to attract travelers to this beautiful island than just how easy it is to get to.
Puerto Rico boasts beautiful beaches, lush tropical rainforests, and an incredible nightlife scene. It also has a well-deserved reputation for its high-quality food and drink options.
If you have an adventurous streak, then you won’t be disappointed in Puerto Rico: from zip lining to rock climbing, snorkeling to surfing, this is an adventure-lovers paradise.
The landscape is incredibly diverse and includes both mountain ranges and paradise-worthy beaches. It’s well worth getting out and exploring as much of this as possible, which is why car hire is such a good option on the island.
One of the unique highlights of a trip to Puerto Rico is a chance to explore its bioluminescent bays. These light up a beautiful blue and they really do have to be seen to be believed.
There are only five bioluminescent bays in the entire world, and Puerto Rico is home to three of them, which is pretty remarkable really! If you only do one thing in Puerto Rico then make it to visit one of these bays at night.
As an added bonus, visiting Puerto Rico is incredibly doable on a budget. Especially with no many budget flights to the island now available.
