Fletcher is being real with herself.

On Friday, the singer released her new single “Doing Better,” the latest taste of her upcoming album The Antidote. The new track hears the singer taking accountability for her ego — and hears her be honest with the dark sides of newfound fame.

“I wrote ‘Doing Better’ as a way to explore my ego and call myself out, but also to tell the truth about what I was feeling at the time,” she said in a press release about the song that delves into the darker aspects of fame. “When I put out ‘Becky’s So Hot’ it got quite a reaction, but in a lot of ways that attention didn’t feel good.”

“Doing Better” — co-produced by Jennifer Decliveo and One Love — is the third single off Antidote, following “Lead Me On” and “Eras of Us.” The album’s out on March 22.

“Over the years, I’ve looked for the antidote in so many things: women, the road, the stage, fans, spirituality and self-reflection,” Fletcher said. “Making this album was an excavation, a deep dive where I asked myself what would truly heal me, and my ultimate realization was that love is the antidote.”

“I don’t think I’d ever really looked at love through all the different lenses and angles and discovered all its infinite manifestations,” she added. “That’s what this album is about for me.”

Antidote marks the singer’s second album after dropping Girl of My Dreams, which included “Becky’s So Hot” and “Serial Heartbreaker,” in 2022. She released EP The S(ex) Tapes in 2020.

“This album has been a lighthouse guiding me back to my own heart,” she write on Instagram when announcing the LP in January. “It is my greatest finding yet and yours to experience.”
