FKA Twigs has shared details of her third album, ‘EUSEXUA’, and shared the captivating lead single – check it out below.
The project comes as the long-awaited follow-up to her 2019 album ‘Magdalene’, and has been teased by the singer in recent weeks. Last month, it was reported that she played the album to a select group during a New York playback session, and from there she has shared more teasers with fans.
Now, Twigs has today (September 13) shared full details about the new record and confirmed that it will be released on January 24 via Young. You can pre-order it here.
To celebrate the announcement, the singer-songwriter has dropped the title track as the lead single, as well as an accompanying music video directed by Jordan Hemingway.
“King sized, I’m vertical sunrised / Like flying, capsized / Free, I see you are Eusexua,” Twigs sings, with ethereal vocals sitting on top of the pulsating, electronic rhythm. “Do you feel alone? / You’re not alone/ And if they ask, you say you feel it / But don’t call it love.”

As for the album, the follow-up to ‘Magdalene’ is centred around physical sensation – namely the sense of euphoria that comes after connecting with another person or a form of art.
“What is ‘Eeusexua’? Eusexua is a state of being. A feeling of momentary transcendence often evoked by art, music, sex, and unity. Eusexua can be followed by a state of bliss and feelings of limitless possibility. Also used to refer to: ‘The pinnacle of Human Experience’,” reads a press release.
“Eusexua is the moment right before an orgasm. Eusexua is melding into one being with the perfect stranger you’re making out with. Eusexua is losing track of time while losing yourself on the dance floor. Eusexua is the rush of inspiration that accompanies the birth of an idea. Eusexua can be many things to many people.
“It’s a nebulous concept, ever-evolving with those who experience it. But it is united through any moment in which we are fully embodying ourselves, present in the moment, disconnected from technology, synthesised with those around us.”
While ‘EUSEXUA’ will serve as FKA Twigs’ first album since ‘Magdalene’, the artist has gone on to share other music since then. In 2022 she shared the mixtape ‘Caprisongs’, and earlier this year, she dropped new material via the Two Shell duet, ‘Talk To Me’.
It arrived after teasing her new album on Discord, where she said that while the songs won’t be techno tracks, they were inspired by a trip to Prague where she “fell in love” with the genre. Late last year, she also confirmed that she was writing the album from scratch again after a hacker leaked dozens of demos.
FKA Twigs was crowned as the recipient of the Godlike Genius gong at the BandLab NME Awards in 2022. At just 34, she became the youngest-ever winner of the prize. “I am so proud to be the first Black female artist to have been honoured, still baby-faced, and inspired as hell. Here’s to the next decade of making art and music,” she said at the time.
Back then, she told us about what to expect from new material, explaining that she was looking to expand her sound going forward, but in a way that meant she didn’t lose sight of her roots.
“It’s not going to change my ethos. I only make music that I want to make. But I don’t want to stay the same – that’s the kiss of death for an artist, a sidestep into nothingness. I always want to learn more and keep growing,” she said.
In other FKA Twigs news, earlier today she kicked off the official unveiling of a major new work of art at Sotheby’s in London. Called ‘The Eleven’, it looks to “bring twigs’ fiercely independent creative vision to the forefront of the contemporary art scene”. It will run through to September 26, find out more here.
