Sony has revealed the free games coming to PlayStation Plus for May 2023, and includes three games altogether. As always players can download each of the three games at no additional charge if they’re subscribed to PlayStation Plus. And because these are the free monthly games, you don’t need to be subscribed to PlayStation Plus Extra or PlayStation Plus Premium to access them like you do with the Game Catalog titles.
Even if you don’t plan on playing them right away, it’s still an insanely good value at $9.99 a month. As all three games together will cost quite a bit more than that were you to purchase them. This coming month’s free games includes Chivalry II, an epic multiplayer first-person slasher centered around medieval warfare. The game features 4 classes and 12 subclasses. So there’s a bit of variety in play style and weapons used. It’s also available as a PS4 and PS5 version. Which means you can run the game in 4K at 60 frames per second if you play on PS5.
PlayStation Plus May 2023 titles arrive May 2
New monthly free games always arrive on the first Tuesday of the month. Which means PlayStation Plus subscribers will see these three new games dropping on May 2. That’s next Tuesday and only a few days away, so you only have through the end of next Monday to claim the free games for April. If you haven’t already done so. April’s free games include Meet Your Maker, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and Tails of Iron. For May, in addition to Chivalry II subscribers get to claim GRID Legends, and Descenders.
Once the games arrive as part of the monthly free games, you’ll be able to claim them until June 6. Also worth noting is that you don’t have to download and install them. You can simply add them to your library. This will allow you to install them at any time as long as your subscription is active.
