EXO singer Suho has dropped his pre-release single ‘Cheese’, which will be part of his upcoming record out later this month.
On May 20 at 6pm KST, the K-pop singer unveiled the music video for ‘Cheese’ alongside its digital release. The clip opens with a retro game character selection screen, featuring pixelated versions of Suho and Red Velvet‘s Wendy as options. As the game begins, the two singers begin a cat-and-mouse chase in an art gallery filled with cheese-inspired paintings and sculptures.
“Rich, like that rich cheddar / Fluffy, stretchy, you and me / Crank the heat up, get it hot / I know you feel it too,” sings Suho in the upbeat chorus.
‘Cheese’ precedes the release of Suho’s upcoming third mini-album, titled ‘1 to 3’. The record and the music video for its lead single of the same name is due out on May 31 at 6pm KST. At the time of publishing, SM Entertainment has yet to unveil the record’s playlist.
Ahead of the album’s release, the singer will also be holding a two-night solo concert titled ‘SU:HOME’ on May 25 and 26 at the Olympic Hall in Seoul.
The upcoming ‘1 to 3’ will be Suho’s first solo release in over two years, following April 2022’s ‘Grey Suit’. Prior to that, the singer made his solo debut with his 2020 mini-album ‘Self-Portrait’. In addition to his music career, the EXO member has also starred in several K-dramas, including Behind Your Touch, Rich Man and the ongoing Missing Crown Prince.
Meanwhile, EXO’s latest group release was their July 2023 studio album ‘Exist’, which was led by the title track ‘Cream Soda’. In a four-star review of the album, NME’s Sara Delgado wrote that the group “confidently and deftly showcases a vocal depth, range and maturity on a record that feels like a homecoming worthy of the wait.”
In other K-pop news, SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and Wonwoo are set to debut as a new sub-unit of the group next month. The duo will drop their first single album ‘This Man’ on June 17.
