Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann have faced rumors of an open marriage and cheating in the week since the Real Housewives of Atlanta star filed for divorce after 11 years of marriage. But are any of the reports true?
Just as an insider reacted to the claims, as well as Kim’s potential return to RHOA or future appearance on Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, it was noted that as they continue to live together in their Georgia mansion, those close to them are concerned that their split could “get really bad.”
“[Kim and Kroy are] still living in the same house,” an insider confirmed to PEOPLE on May 12. “It’s easier for the kids for now. But also, neither wants to move, and it will obviously get complicated.”
In addition to sharing Brielle Biermann, 26, and Ariana Biermann, 21, who Kroy adopted in 2013, Kim and Kroy have four younger children, including Kroy “KJ” Jagger, 11, Kash Kade, 10, and twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, 9. And due to their recent divorce filings, in which Kroy requested primary physical and legal custody, a custody battle could be looming.
“Everyone expects this divorce is going to get really bad because neither of them will give in,” the source noted.
“Divorce is terrible, but the kids are going to have to go through this in a very public manner,” they continued. “It’s really sad because he is a great dad. With that said, they were both very involved parents, and they both deserve to share custody, and anyone that knows them would agree.”
While Kroy filed for primary physical and legal custody of their four minor children, Kim only filed for primary physical as she asked for joint legal.
“She’s not cutting the kids off from Kroy,” another insider close to Kim previously said. “She wants him to be involved as their dad.”
In other Kim and Kroy news, an insider is shutting down a recent report from Deux Moi on Instagram, which suggested that the former couple had an open marriage and that Kroy was sleeping with someone else.
Speaking to TMZ, the source said the report is “all BS” and neither party was cheating.
The insider went on to say that when it comes to Kim potentially returning to RHOA, or joining the cast of an upcoming season of RHUGT, neither opportunity is something she’s considering at the moment. Instead, rather than plotting her reality comeback, Kim is laying low at home and focusing on her children.
